The Deposit Chamber of Commerce is organizing it’s annual Trout Run 5K Race, scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 10:00 am.  

This race was scheduled in proximity to the opening of Trout season to take advantage of the potential increase of fishing tourists in our area.  The hope is that this event  will give fishermen the incentive to bring their family and friends along to spend an afternoon in our Village while they are fishing.  The goal is to highlight the Village and our businesses to visitors who wouldn’t normally travel to Deposit, and to draw additional visitors at a time that is traditionally less busy.

The Trout Run 5K Race will be starting and ending on Front Street in the vicinity of Movie Theatre.  The enclosed map and directions show the planned route for the run.  Also enclosed is a copy of the Race Registration form, which can be copied and distributed from your business to interested participants.  The Registration form is also available on the Chamber’s website, and on the website of the Triple Cities Runners Club at

There are great marketing opportunities available for chamber members to get your business information to the race participants.  Every runner will be receiving a registration packet.  Chamber members may want to consider submitting a “Race Day Special” announcement or advertisement which can be included in registration packets.  Discount coupons are always well received by participants in these types of events.  Even simple things like magnets, key chains, etc. with your business information are examples of materials normally included in registration packets.  

Naturally, there are costs associated with this type of event, and for those businesses that would like to take on a larger role, sponsor opportunities are available.  For sponsors contributing $ 50.00 or more, your business name or logo will be added to the back of the Trout Run 5K Race t-shirt.  Sponsors help us put on a first-class event, helping defray the cost of things such as advertising, awards, post-race runner refreshments, etc. Any donation small or large will help defray the cost of this event.

Finally, these events are only successful when they run smoothly, and this is based wholly on the volunteers who dedicate their time to making them a success.  Volunteers are going to be needed to assist with registration and finish timing, as well as traffic control at intersections throughout the village during the race.  Any business who can organize a small team of volunteers to assist that day would be appreciated.
